THE PETER ROWNEY FESTIVAL
KWIK CRICKET COMPETITION

On Sunday 26^th July 2009 the Airedale & Wharfedale Senior Cricket League held its Annual Peter Rowney Festival of Kwik Cricket for the Under 9 age group at Rawdon Cricket Club.    The day commenced with 12 teams who were divided into three groups on a damp day with the group games played in occasional light rain and the play offs attracted heavier rain

Despite the weather the players made the best of the conditions and had an enjoyable day, whilst credit to the parents and spectators who, watching for the main under umbrellas, saw some exciting and close games

The Group winners were Burley, Addingham and Guiseley went into a Round Robin Play Off, with Guiseley emerging the victors with two wins

Another successful day culminated with Val Rowney presenting the trophies and once again looking forward to 2010 and better weather.
